After next semester I'll only have to take Biology to submit my nursing application so I was going to take it over the summer online since I work during the day. Anyone take biology online in a shortened semester? I'll do the labs on campus 1 day a week for 4 hours I think it says.

I took my 1st A&P class in the summer, not bio...but still science :) Its going to be a challenge to do for any science class. Just don't get behind and study every day! It can be hard to keep up in an accelerated format. But if you really work hard, it can be done!
Thanks! I really don't want to wait and take it in the Fall because that's 4 months that I could be on the waiting list for the nursing program. I'm not taking any other class with it. I hope I can manage!
Anyone else have any suggestions? Is this manageable if I work 40 hours a week and attempt to take a hybrid biology class over the summer? Lab will be one day a week for 4 hours and lecture online.
Anyone?

Good luck if you decide to take the class!
Sciences are always very time-consuming when taken during mini-semesters and such, however. I took chemistry last summer and I felt quite overwhelmed, because the class itself was only a month long with going to class and labs every weekday. I still made a B in it, but I would definitely not want to ever take it in the summer session ever again.
I haven't taken any hybrid classes in the summer, but definitely be sure to keep up with your schoolwork, and to study the material everyday.
Oh, professors may also advise you if their class is manageable with other activities or not. So it's really up to you. Good luck to you!

I think it can be done, just be prepared for a tough summer. I took my A&P II class last summer, and it was tough. There was a lot of information that we had to get through, and I think I spent around 4 hours a day on classwork/studying. Also, I have found that online classes are actually more work than being on campus and require more of my time than if I had gone to class. Good luck!
I think I might try and take it on campus. I just didn't want to have to wait around for too long after work before class, and I also have 2 little ones, so I think the class on campus is 4 days a week from 6:30 to 10. So I would've get home until 11. But I guess it is only 8 weeks. Makes for a sucky summer:(
