Hurst review and passing in massachusetts

Published

Hi Everyone,

So I am taking my boards soon, and have recently taken the Hurst Online review. I am from Massachusetts and will be taking the NCLEX-RN in Massachusetts within the upcoming month. I am worried, because I feel like most people who take the Hurst Review are from the South and from what I have heard the boards in each state or a little different.

So has anyone taken the Hurst Review from Massachusetts and actually had a great outcome and passed the boards? I am stressing and would really like some input :)

I'm from ma too and taking Nclex month. I did not use hurst but I bought ncsbn, have the Saunders book and bought lippincotts Nclex prepu.

Hi amanda, I just received my email that my Papers are almost done for processing. Do you have a schedule for the nclex? How do you find the HURST REVIEW so far? I'm almost done with the lecture, I'm at Pediatrics now.

hi zeifrancisco ! i passed my NCLEX-RN the first time February 10th in 75 questions. I loved the hurst review, i feel like it really helped me get my core material down. however, i would definitely advice you to do many questions and get the Priotiziting, delegation, and assignment book by LaCharity. I feel like this books questions where so much harder then the actual NCLEX-RN and I felt coompletely prepared. I did every question in this book it gives you different varieties of questions and breaks everythinng down in the back of the book :)

congrats amanda!!!!!!!

I am taking hurst and yes I purchased the Lacharity book. Did you like really memorize the hurst lecture and the 5th day material??? I can't wait to take my exams too. Im really getting anxious now.

For those that have taken HURST I noticed that there is no information whatsoever, anywhere regarding HURST remediation if you didn't pass on the 1st attempt. Does anyone have any insight.

zeifrancisco i did memorize the hurst review.. not everything just important things.. like cushings, addisons, SIADH, SI.. main ones that I knew seemed similiar.. the PDA book was the one piece of material that I used that I thought really helped me pass the exam. I thought the quesitons in this book seemed harder than the NCLEX-RN questions and was really confident through out the whole exam. Also, I was a real over achiever in college.. i mesmorized every slide for the exams because I wanted to know as much as I posisbly could to help me in my future nursing career. I feel like what I learned in school, the basic material in the Hurst Review, and the PDA book where big factors on why I passed my boards. Make sure you are confident when you go into the exam and DO NOT second guess yourself. Do not pick answers you are unsure of and go with your gut. You will do great!!

I think it is not the BON's who gave the exam...it look likes the questions are from NCSBN...so whenever state you are..it's the same...just do practice questions esp SATA of saunders..

Thanks for the advice amanda. Any specific topics that i should focus on? Did you get a lot of pharma questions?
