I graduated nursing school 2 years ago and took the nclex 3 months after that and failed.. a month after that I got into a very very bad accident and have had 5 surgeries to recover. since I have been out of school for a while and need a through review.
So I was thinking of taking the hurst online review since I have read that its a very detailed core review and then doing the Kaplan Qbank... has anyone done this? any suggestions on this? I need help please.

Im actually doing that...Took kaplan live review last November, did all their Qbank, scored in the mid 60s using educated guesses, luck and memory and FAILED last month with 105 questions. Didn't reinforce what I already know when I took the boards I was clueless.
I just did LIVE HURST REVIEW, reading every day, 200-300 questions a day using Kaplan Qbank, ATI Qbank, Saunders. Im hoping and praying that I will pass the second time around. I have been in a lot of stress and some depression in the last 11 months between LVN-RN Bridge (Graduated last Oct) and some personal problems so my focus isnt really there. Just taking it one day at a time.
Good luck and God bless!!!
Forgot...After taking Hurst...My Kaplan Qbank scores jumped from mid 60s to high 60s - mid 70s ...

Hi. I also have been out of school for almost 4 years doing other things but have been researching a little here and there as to the best methods for jumping back in. I still have my old ATI books and codes to access the tests but when I studied 4 years ago ATI didn't seem very well known/or used. What do others think of using ATI for studying? I have the Hurst books and CDs w/review questions as well as Saunders. My main problem seems to be the test strategy and understanding it b/c it seems like I read to much into a question and making it more difficult than it really is.
Any insight or suggestions?
thanks

I really believe in the Hurst review, she makes reviewing fun, and very simple to remember important content, or should I say core content. I also believe Kaplan questions are similar to Nclex questions, because they test you at the application and analysis level...which is what the NCLEX primarily targets I took my NCLEX-RN exam today, ...I still don't know my results ...Honestly, the exam was not as scary as I thought, again don't know my results, but I strongly believe reviewing content with Hurst and doing Kaplan questions, and using the Lacharity book, really prepared me to test and feel more confident...OMG ...The lacharity book is a must have for priority and delegation questions. The Lacharity book along with Kaplan questions really bring you to a higher level of critical thinking....I did not practice with a lot of questions, from other sources i.e Saunders, Exam Cram etc..., I primarily used Lacharity and Kaplan for questions, I really wanted to purchase the Kaplan Qbank, but it was too expensive. I believe after doing the Hurst review, doing at least a 100 qs daily is very good to reinforce your content.

I am just starting the Hurst review today. I have my Saunders book that helped me get through Nursing School. Best book ever. I also have the Lacharity delegation/Prioritization book. I love that one too. I have a Kaplan Nclex book with a Cd with questions and I have Pearson comphrehensive review questions. I take my boards on Feb. 26th. I am praying I can do this is 1 shot. I feel like I have all the tools. Now I just have to use them all to my advantage.

I am an international BSN graduate. I took NCLEX thrice and used Kaplan, NCSBN and Hurst. I used Kaplan and NCSBN on my first and 2nd try and failed. On my thrid try, I took Hurst online but didnt follow the whole thing. I failed but my scores were really high: A big difference and way better compared to Kaplan and NCSBN. Hope this helps. Goodluck to all of us!

Hi. I've read a lot of positive reviews for the Hurst Review and my question is whether those peeps recommend the "live" Hurst review or if using the latest edition of the Hurst review book + CD is sufficient? I will do either but just wanted to get some input on these two + possible outcomes.
Thanks for your time
Hi. I was wondering if you purchashed the Hurst online review or if your using a book.
Thanks
