Hello everyone,
Is there anybody out there who is awaiting for acceptance from Hunter for the accelerated program starting this Summer? I just had some questions. Thanks all.

Hi I hope all you had a good interview.. IT WAS SO NERVE RACKING!! Have anyone heard from them yet? I got into NYIT and NYU and is waiting for hunter's decision. I dont know which schools to go to if i get accepted to Hunter vs NYU. Does where you graduate from affect your job opportunities and gain acceptance to graduate school?

No it doesn't, if you can't afford NYU, don't go to NYU. If you're licensed and graduated from an accredited school you can get a job. Mostly all of the nursing programs in the city use the same hospitals so you can make connections in any program.

I am also having this internal struggle over which to choose after being accepted into both NYU and Hunter for their accelerated programs. With both starting in the fall, time is no longer an issue and I am trying to leave the cost thing out of the decision (very hard to do with such a cost discrepancy)
Has anyone officially committed to Hunter yet? Deadline is tomorrow, right?
Anyone on here from Hunter's 2009 A2D program that can offer their insights?
Looking forward to meeting you guys!
I accepted Hunter's admission. I think you have to consider the cost unfortunately. In the end, either way you will receive a BSN from a well-respected nursing school, one you have debt, the other you don't. It also depends on how you want to be "treated" while you are in school, by this I mean, private vs. state schools. I went to undergrad and grad at Boston University, priced comparably to NYU, and it almost felt that I had my hand-held through many of the processes and they made it a point that I was "OK" throughout. I personally do not want that, or feel that I need that, but that is totally a personal decision. If you like more support and advisement, then the higher-priced school may be more fit to your needs. I, in no way think one is better than the other, it is totally a personal decision. With that said, hope to see you June 1st :)
