Human Growth

I am a little worried about my Human Growth class i have been taking online. I am not able to get much out of it, really nothing at all, its all about these people theory's and such and i just do not get it, its not that i cant understadn it, its just that i really do nto care to remember it so its not sinkin in. I have been taking A&PI A&PII and now Micro all summer and though that Human growth would be a good class to take online while i take these classes. I can manage to get a B but the thing i am mainly concerned over is, Is it going to hurt me if i do not have a great knowledge base from Human growth in Nursing school this fall???

andy. . .trust me. just go through the motions of learning the stuff. you may end up staring down the syllabus of an instructor who tells you they want you to organize your care plan according to mazlow's hierarchy of needs or, as one poor student had happen, some old pediatrician's theory on development. you do need to know what the developmental tasks are for each age, particularly those for the newborn, as this is going to come up when you do your ob/newborn class and it will be on your state board as well. 30 years ago i had questions on my state board specifically asking what the normal behavior for a child of 6 months was. it's just that it doesn't seem so exciting as you are taking it at the moment. i promise, this stuff will become significant later. . .joyce
