Hi all. I'm not too sure if anyone still replies on this website, but I'm being hopeful. I was just recently accepted to the Fall 2017 HCCC Nursing school here in Jersey City, NJ. I was told that I'd be receiving documents for a criminal background check and I believe a drug test. I know that my start date is pretty far from right now, but I just wanted to make sure that all is still right because I haven't received any mail. How long did others wait to receive these documents/forms or how was your acceptance process done? Thank you in advance!

Hi R.ROM,

Thanks a million.

Keepitchic,

You're welcome. Did you register for the CPR class?

R.ROM,

No, I already have my BLS up to date because my job requires it.

R.ROM,

Did you order the books online yet? They're kind of expensive.

Keepitchic,

Yes, however, I heard from someone who graduated from the program that they didn't use the book and recommended not to buy it. I am debating whether to return it or not.

R.ROM,

Really? What about the online module, did they use that?

Keepitchic,

Well, after further explanation they told me that they didn't read the textbook, but did used it to do the problems. So, I am going to stay with it.

Hi there!

I've gotten accepted for Fall 2019, night division, any update on how it's going so far?

Hello! I don't know if you'll even see this but its worth the try! I am just wondering how you did on your NLN? I am taking it this Thursday and I'm just curious what grade they're looking for! Thank you!

Hello everyone,

I am curious after reading your responses how long it took each of you to get a response from the Nursing Program at HCCC. I saw one person got a response in 2018 for admissions into 2019 quickly but how about everyone else. I applied in February 2019, it is now mid April and two attempts later off the NLN because I first scored low on the Verbal, and in my second attempt I did much better but not so much in the science. Can anyone give their feedback of what they got on their scores and how long it took to get a response back when they were accepted...? I'm so anxious to know already if I am in or not.

Hope to hear ....

I believe you have to get a 45 and up in each section: math, science, and verbal. I took the NLN for admission into the RN program and got Math- 73, Science- 68, and Verbal 97. Hope this helps!

I took the NLN for admission into the RN program and got Math- 73, Science- 68, and Verbal 97. When I took the test back in September, I had to wait for the admission committee to meet and was told that they meet the Friday after each exam. I received a response in the mail about a week later. Hope this helps!
