does anyone know if 5 HTP is safe to take with uds. I'm so afraid to take anything but I feel like I could benefit from this. Been feeling little down lately and pretty stressed out.

internet hugs!
In theory, 5 HTP breaks down into amino acids & serotonin which shouldn't cause a false positive. However, supplements are not regulated so no one is policing how the supplement is processed (risk for cross-contamination) or what additives might sneak their way into it. Given your precarious situation, I would stick with only stuff you can get a script for.

Call your program and ask if there is a way for you to contact the medical review officer in charge of reviewing your drug screens. This is the doctor who looks at positive tests and determines if there is a legit medical reason, if it could be a false positive, etc. My program has their own, some may contact with firstlab, recovery trek etc to provide that service. If you are able to contact that person, they may be able to give you the best answer, but they may also be almost impossible to contact...the lab who runs the tests may also be able to help but as someone else mentioned since supplements aren't regulated its a bit of a gamble.
The BON knows I'm an addict / alcoholic. Last thing I need them to know is I'm having anxiety and am sad. I'll continue to do do my tapping therapy and meditation. Thanks for the feedback everyone

In Texas, TPAPN participants must submit a monthly list of medications, including vitamins, supplements and OTC products. If you have a similar requirement, this could help you to avoid any problems by keeping your medication list current.I would still research the possibility of false positives related to that particular supplement.
