Has anyone heard about the job prospects after you graduate? It seems to be my biggest concern because of the lack of HPSA facilities in my area that are rated 14 or higher. I would relocate but so many places want RN's with at least 2 years of experience. I think that it is definitely worth relocating or working in a rural area for 2 years when the payoff is free education! But at the same time it seems difficult to locate approved places? I wonder how that process works...I have not been able to find information about this on other threads. Any thoughts?
Yea part of me says to just suck it up because of the great benefits like having your tuition paid for as well as a monthly stipend. I really want to work in underrepresented areas as is but the time frame they give is 6 months to find a job which with the way the market is today is short! I'm applying no matter what just would hate to not e able to find work.
I know it is entirely too early but I wanted to get a thread going for all of you who are planning to apply for the NSP this upcoming year. I know it is becoming more and more popular and there are always questions and people wanting to share experiences and such so I hope this thread will become helpful! I have signed up to get the alert for when the application is available for the 2013-2014 FY and hope to meet others who will be applying as well.
I was fortunate enough to be accepted to this HRSA scholarship last August. My school is very expensive and i think the commitment is worth it. Anyone else living in the LA area who applied?
Was it hard for u to find employment to fullfill the scholarship requirements?
I'm still in my first year of my MSN-FNP program so we will see when I get out. My friend got it too and graduated this year and is working at an LA clinic. She almost had to move somewhere she didn't want to go to, but someone she preferred finally accepted her
