Has anyone applied or been accepted into this program? I am looking into applying to this program after I graduate but am wondering if private student loans that were taken out for tuition and living expenses qualify? Also, does anyone know of any oregon hospitals that would qualify for this program?
Thanks!

I've looked into this one but It sounded like you had to for sure have a job secured and have your application in prior to my graduation in June...maybe your graduating prior to the deadline (March 11th or somewhere in there). So I've been looking into IHS which pays up to $40,000 of loans w/ a 2 year commitment. By Far pays the most of any repayment program I've come across. Check into it IHS.gov Good Luck

Hi...I applied to this program this year. Private loans and loans taken out to pay for living expenses do qualify. You basically have to get a job first, and then apply for the program once hired. To find out if a hospital qualifies as a "Disproportionate Share Hospital" call HR and ask them. If they are unsure talk to the business office, it boils down to how much money the hospital gets for medicare funding. For my hospital, they said that it is something that they reevaluate every year. Also, if you are at a non-profit hospital it will increase your odds for funding. Hope that helps, and just apply....you never know...and if you get it, it's a great opportunity! Hope that helps a little.

Hey, I have noticed that you applied the HRSA Nursung loan Repayment Program last year. Did you receive the award? What was you salary-to-dept percentage when you applied?
