12 hr every weekend shifts

Does anyone work this fully benefitted position? I am wondering if it is worth it, and I am considering working it to have the 5 days off. It must be nice having 5 days off, and getting paid to work 4. How does your hospital do holidays with these shifts?

As a FT employee we are required to work every other weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun). We only do 12s. And we have to do Fri, Sat, Sun. Can't split it up. That's one thing I hate about nursing....weekends and holidays.

At my hospital, I work friday, saturday and sunday 12 hours each day. I get more per hour than working regular shifts and I'm full time. Plus since my dh works mon-thur he takes care of the kids while I work so we don't need day care.
