Hprp first test

Hello,

I am looking for some advice. Long story short I tested positive for alcohol while at work and self reported. I lost my job and am at risk of losing everything. I have my inital eval scheduled and will have to drug screen for that. Does anyone know if this will be urine or a peth test? I feel like my life is falling apart.

I'm not sure what you will have.  Your evaluator or case manager should tell you what specific test to get. The monitoring agreement is brutal but doable.  It's not forever. You'll get another job. Hang in there. I would suggest a lawyer to give you the name of someone if you haven't already done that for an independent evaluation and maybe you'll escape a monitoring agreement.

First- chin up. You are not the sum of your mistakes.  It feels REALLY dark right now. I remember it. It WILL get better. I promise.  In the meantime- keep doing the next right thing. I do not know where you are located and what your inital eval will involve but I would advise that you get an attorney... I know it seems like one more thing you cannot afford but it could save you in the long run.  Check the website for the association of nurse attorneys for a licensing specific one in your area.  Wishing you all the best.  You can do it.

Definitely get a lawyer if you want to continue a nursing career. If you want to move to another career, than don't waste money on a lawyer. I just started my 3 year probation due to a wet and reckless over 2 years ago.

When you do the test, can you pass on the list of substances they test for?

Thanks and best of luck!

We aren't told what they test for other than "mood altering substances" . Don't take anything not approved to be safe

Similar situation. Curious what ended up playing out for you? Hope all worked out and that you are doing better than initial post. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way!
