I have clinical tomorrow and I thought this would be a good intro to everything else that I would like to talk about. Yes, I already know what they are as I have reviewed the chart. But b/c I have never met him before I thought this would be a good place to start. So any ideas on how to reword that question? I just feel like I can't say, "What are your current stressors" or is that ok to say, is it too straightfoward and confronting or is it appropriate?

How about "Tell me about some of the problems you have in your life right now."

Yeah i think youre going to have to explain to the patient what a stressor is ...honestly before nursing school, did you know what it meant?
think about what your focusing on ...what is his c/c? then ask open ended questions that will give you more data.
