How should use study package from ATI?

Published

Well I decided to purchase the ATI study package and I would like advice on how to use it. Is there anyone out there that can give advice how the use study package. Did you take the online assessments first then study the manual? Or did you study the manual and take online assessments? Should I take both tests for part A and part B? I am not quite sure how to organize my study habits. I am taking the Teas V test, January 25th. I haven't received study guide yet it will take 3-6 business days from today. So the clock is ticking for my study time. I have had all my prerequisites except A&P II and its been some time for my chemistry and algebra. Should I just take my first assessment now and see how I do, without studying? Then I would know what I need to work on or should I review the study manual when I get it then take my first assessment. Any suggestions are welcome and thank you in advance.

I am glad that I took paper version because it was easier for me to underline the important words and faster to review when I had time.

For me, the exam is similar to the Manual rather than the online ones. Some concepts in the online practice tests are way beyond. For the science, I suggest that you focus on hypothesis test like why an experiments need to be repeated. DNA, RNA, basic functions of body surface structures, photosynthesis (structures and functions), gennotype, phenotype, basic chemistry like knowing how to identify atomic number and atomic mass. What nucleus includes. What happens if we change the neutron numbers... I had one question on Punnet square and it was easy. Know how to read a codon. I think videos on youtube explain very well on this. Overall, it is kind of straightforward and not tricky like problems on the online practice tests. If you go through the Manual and really understand the concepts, you should be fine.

Hi Lighton,

I am studying the ATi Study manual and I am reading the concepts. Some of it I am retaining and I get it and some things just aren't sticking yet. So I will have to keep studying over it. Thank you for listing the areas to focus on I will definitely go back over these areas in the study manual. I think my test is on the computer at my testing center so I won't have that advantage to underline when reviewing my answers on the exam. But maybe there will be a way to go back and review questions. I am looking in the Study Manual for the areas that you mentioned now. Thanks for the advice. I think there is just so much information to retain. I just hope I can remember it all. For the most part I know most of the basic concepts already but some I just have not retained the information.
