Where in Canada do you want to apply. I believe each province would have their own requirements for becoming licensed. I know in BC requires you to register with the national nursing assessment services (NNAS) where they evaluate your education and certifications before making suggestions if there are any gaps or not to practice. I imagine your information about the nclex would be evaluated and processed here. An English fluency test is also mandatory.
I know when we wrote the nclex, we were told it should be the equivalent of the American one, but I haven't known anyone who has tried to work in the states with one.
Best of luck
@urp007, the NCLEX is the same for both Canadians and Americans, since you have already passed the exam, it saves you one step in the licensing process. Where did you obtain your nursing education? Your first step is to apply to NNAS to have your nursing education evaluated for equivalency to a Canadian BScN. Other IENs' have struggled with the application process, you can read about other IEN's struggles to become licensed in Canada by using the search tool in the top right hand corner to find the thread 'NNAS experience'.
The US BONs only require nurses to have an ASN or ADN level of education in order to enter practice, whereas the Canadian regulatory bodies require nurses to have a BScN level of education to enter practice. Your US assessment results do not mean you will have positive NNAS assessment results. It is possible that your education will be deemed either not comparable or somewhat comparable to a Canadian entry to practice education.
You do not have to do NCLEX-RN again. However, you have many other steps that others have found difficult and frustrating, and they will likely take more than a year and over $1000 USD by the time you have completed them. Which province do you want to work as a nurse in? It is a big commitment and you have to be sure you want this, or it won't be worth your effort.

If I pass US NCLEX -RN,is it possible to get work visa in Canada without applying for Canadian PR ?
You would need to find a employer willing to go through the process of work permit. You will still need to meet provincial college of registered nurse requirements
