I am a nursing student in New York and will be graduating in May. I plan on taking a review class and taking my boards as soon as possible after the class. I plan on moving to Arizona with my fiance towards the end of August/September. I have been looking online for information but it isn't very clear. Does any one know what it would take to transfer my license from NY to an AZ license so I can work in AZ? Also, is there any way to put my NY license on hold while I have my AZ license or will I have to reapply for it if I ever wanted to work in NY? Any info would be helpful. Thank you

You can have many state licenses as long as you pay fees and if required CEU's. If you let NY lapse but have worked in another state I don't think you will have any problems when going back to NY but better to check with the NY BON. In regards to getting a license from one state to another just check out endorsing license on their website

This is very easy to do. Once you have a license you can contact the BON in the state that you would like to go to. Everything will be online, follow the directions and you'll be set!
