How do you track tardiness/absences

Right now we are using a point system to keep track of this issue. HR is wanting to steer away from the point system, but want us to still keep track. I'm just curious what you guys are using?

If you have the Microsoft 2010 Suite, Excel has a really nice template that you can revise to be an employee absence calendar. If you click "New" and then search through the available templates, you'll find something that will work for you. That's what I use. After you revise it to suit your needs (ie. add staff names, etc), you can choose to either print it to manually complete, or just have it saved on your computer to edit as needed. Hope this helps!

Admin assistant enters tardies on an Excel spread sheet after running the numbers off of our timekeeping program (Kronos). She enters the date of the tardy and the time the person clocked in. There is a Guideline of Practice via HR that outlines how many are acceptable within a rolling 6 month time frame.
