How To Pass NCLEX

I have been coming to this site for over two years reading everyone else's postings but never sharing my own. I have read hundreds of post and applied many suggestions and some have help. I felt it was only fare to share what help me to pass the NCLEX!!!!

Tips in passing

This helped me to pass... For each chapter in Sander Nclex book go over the question first, then read chapter then go back over the questions your second time you should score higher, for additional reinforcement do that Sanders CD on that subject, select content then quiz yourself on the content you are working on. Do not go to next subject until you understand the one you are working on then move on. You will then retain the information. Also put down all other study guides too much information is confusing and you will not retain it. Finish the Sanders book in around 3-4 weeks schedule your test during the time you are studying soon as you finished reviewing Saunders book, you don't want to forget what you reviewed, the book is big but have a lot of pictures and written mostly in outline form so it won't take you as long as you think to complete.

Most important focus on the interventions that Sanders give you on ever subject you read pay attention to the interventions you would take as a RN on each disease, know your interventions, Sanders gives them to you on every disease.

Feel comfortable with select all that apply question, view them as true of first questions. Review Sanders CD there is 199 select all questions go over them until you get them right. You access them by going the multiple answers part on the Saunders CD when selecting your questions, begin to feel comfortable with them and you won't feared them.

One more thing......Review test taking strategies in Saunders, few things to remember it's ok to guess if you don't know the answers, try to know the answers but if you don't know, guess the answer with the most adjectives or adverbs...usually it is the longest answer, also if all else fail pick C.

Contratulations.

I took the exam last friday and it shut down at 75 items. I found out i failed by quickresult. This is depressing. I used the kaplan questionaires given by my friend as my review materials.. I applied for new mexico. I hope I can apply again, retake the exam and pass.. I cant afford to enroll in a review center coz i am currently employed. All i can do is review after my work.. I realized i can only answer up to 30 questions after work, after that Im dead on bed.. im planning to buy the kaplan strategies and read this every after work atleast two hours.. This very frustrating.. i cant focus because i also work during daytime and get tired after that.. i lack the time.. Help. I dont want to waste the money i spent for the CES and eligbility.. i want to retake so it wont be wasted even i spend again for the regstration and scheduling in PV. HELP.

[COLOR=#003366]carlovil , have you tried the Saunders Comprehensive Review book that comes with the CD, I found it had all of the subjects that was brought up in test. I used Kaplan review and Exam cram and to me they did not help. The above post give you example how I used the Saunders Comprehensive Review to pass.

I have the saunders compre but i was not able to read everything due to my sched.. all i did is to answer questions by kaplan everyday. Whats inside the cd?? Does iit contain questions and rationales or also the content in the book??

Carlovil, My advice make the time to do this and you should pass next time.... NCLEX takes time to study you have to make the time!

Thanks for the advise. I was lucky that I found a PDF version of the saunders compre. I realized that I can absorb more if I m doing the review in front of my laptop and I dont get bored. When I try to read the book, my eyes easily get tired. I hope I can pass now the exam. What questionares did you use aside from the questions in every after topic in saunders compre and CD?

I used the CD after I finished the questions in the book under the chapter Iwas reading, before I would move on to another chapter I would go under the quiz section in the CD, then select content review, pick the subject I was on and quiz myself on those questions only, when I start getting all the answer right then, I would move to next subject in book then back to CD. This help you to retain information.
