hi guys!
im a 4th year nursing student from the philippines, im about to graduate BSN in 1 - 2 months time. Ive heard terrible rumors about our local NLE (local boards exams) its rumored that our JUNE NLE will be moved to NOVEMBER because of the number of takers this june...
So we are all left with no option but to wait for the NLEs, my question is can i apply for NCLEX? Im planning to apply as a volunteer nurse to gain experience while waiting for the November Board exams...
My questions:
1. Am I eligible to take the exams? with only 6 months experience and no local licence?
2. How can i apply?
3. Whats the best state with the least requirements that i can apply to? I have no VISA i only have a passport...
thanks in advance...

Hi and welcome to the site
Have moved your post to the International forum and suggest you start by reading the sticky called Primer to working in the US and also a good read on here regarding retrogression and current immigration issues.
You are not applying for NCLEX but to be a RN in the US of which NCLEX is part of that process
ok thanks...

To get you a head start on how things are done, I suggest reading our stickies in the Int'l forum and Phil. forum.
Take your time and do all the research and allnurses.com's Int'l forum is THE BEST PLACE to do all those research. Most of your questions will in fact be answered just by reading the stickies.
I am also making you aware that there is currently a retrogression and since you are just starting the whole process you must accept the fact that it will be a long process even if there will be a relief coming this year. That relief, esp. if it's just 61,000 visas would not be able to reach you by the time you are able to do all the process and would have to wait for another batch of visas to be given. The ave. time to do all the needed req'ts and exams is more or less 1 year plus add in an 'uncertain' time after that for the immigration process. If you will not be having the patience to wait and accept that fact then it would be wise to consider other countries and not do anything at all in regards to going to the US. There are some that are loosing it and blaming the long wait to the US Immigration System and now wish they didn't start it at all.
Good luck on whatever you decide and welcome to the site.
