How to start reviewing for the NCLEX?

Published

Just wondering how everyone is preparing. I will be graduating from Excelsior College in a few weeks and want to get started with my nclex review.

Does anyone have any helpful ideas. How many hours per week, material used, courses taken and how long do you wait to take it?

Thank you

I would love to hear, too! I just graduated last week and today I sat down and just kinda stared at my Nclex book-realized that I really have no clue where to start lol. I read a very old thread on this site once that had a special plan- Suzannes I think? That basically just conquers Saunders, one chapter at a time. So im curious if anyone else has a good plan.

I did the online Hurst review. I loved the videos and the way they broke everything down into simple, easy to remember concepts. And the workbook that you print off is an excellent study tool. I am now studying those pages and cross referencing them with my Saunders NCLEX book. I made notecards for the most common lab values and have been studying those as well. Once I go through those a few times, I plan on doing all the NCLEX questions I can get my hands on. I take NCLEX on 6/30 and I am excited about getting it over with! Hope this helps :)

Yes- that's basically what her plan boiled down to, from what I have read on this forum. It was using the tests at the beginning of each chapter BEFORE reviewing the material so that you have a baseline to work from. I really wanted her whole plan and searched desperately for it! She has been off the forum for years, and the plan is no longer available.
