How soon is too soon to start studying?

Hi all! I am just completing my first semester of a BSN program, and I wanted to know how soon I should start studying? I graduate May 2007. A couple of people have said to get an NCLEX book NOW and study. I find that I barely have time to get in my required reading in for class, let alone add another book to the pot. I am taking Pharmacology this summer, and I thought I would get the Saunders book to start glancing at some of the questions. I just do not want to get burned out from studying NCLEX when I have to get through 4 more semesters before I can even take the test. Can I get some opinions on this please??

Also, suzanne4 should I get the green or red Saunders book? I went to the bookstore and saw both...

Put your school studying FIRST.

I didn't start 'studying' until the day after graduation, and then i had 10 days till my NCLEX date. There's so much chaos around the end of the school year that i needed to take care of before i could even begin to 'study' for the NCLEX.

Green Saunders' book................now for the next part. You are going to be unindated with home work over the next couple of years, and quite heavy assignments. I would not worry about the NCLEX at this point. If you are doing your assignments properly and have a good understanding of everything, trhen you should only need a month or two to review questions from the CDs. Saunders may help you get a better understanding of some things from your lectures, but I definitely would not begin studying now towards passing NCLEX. You won't understand much of the material........

I will send you the articles as you asked, but don't worry about the exam at this time. More like March or April, 2007....... :)

I figured as much. The people I was talking to were so insistant, and they are going into their 3rd semester. One of them is pretty neurotic, so I wondered if I should start worrying. That's something I can get off my mind to ease it just a bit. Thanks for the reply and for adding to your article list.
