Some info I found from searching this topic: https://allnurses.com/nurse-practitioners-np/how-shadow-np-190706.html
How would you violate Hippa ?.. Shawdowing someone is not a violation of hippa itself. you are an RN already right ?Find a NP either ANP or ACNP and talk to them
I would recommend you follow a FNP also
I am a advocate of the FNP program
I'm not an RN, at least for another 7 months, so that's why it might be an isssue...
I've heard other recommend FNP for its flexibility...but I don't want to work with kids so an ANP or ACNP would be a better match for me.

Sounds like a dumb question, but I've actually never shadowed anyone before.
And I really need to see what being an NP is like. I've bounced back and forth between all of the advanced practice roles and I just can't decide. And I'm going to go nuts if I don't start coming to a decision. I'm leaning towards the NP right now, either ANP or ACNP, and I have to find out what it's like.
So, how do I find an NP to shadow, and how do I do it without violating HIPAA
