Hi everyone...im nurse Jackie.. literally thats my name. I just graduated in Aug 2013 and am licenced but still no job. in FL btw. my question refers to how serious it it to start my BSN by 2015? im still missing a few classes just to GET INTO a BSN program and i still need to take intermediate algebra before i can get into stats.... i dropped my math class this mornig bc the original teacher died and some other lady came in to teach n i couldnt unsderstand her or get the math...i havent done it since 2009 or 2014... im really panicking..are they going to tell me i cant keep working as an RN (in the middle of my job/orientation) until i get a BSN or what will happen? :'( im really scared now...

I don't completely understand your situation. Who is imposing the 2015 deadline? You say you have no job ... but then you talk about being fired in the middle of orientation. I'm confused by your post.

There isn't a 2015 deadline. There just isn't.
Check out chamberlain for your BSN.
i thought there was some deadline or something. i finally spoke to my RN friend.he just said as long as i said im working towards it,which i am, ill be ok.
thanks. i thought there was. or some kind of repurcussion if i didnt enter a BSN prgrm by 2015.

There's a recommendation that Nurse Practitioners be DNP (as apposed to master's level education) by 2015. It's a recommendation at this point. And I believe the ANA has been recommending BSN as entry level since 1960 something. Maybe the local hospitals in your area have deadlines?

Your facility may have another policy I'd check with them
idk if they do, but when i apply most places say within 2-3 yrs of hire to get it. thats if i get a job! (

Most RN to BSN programs are online now. You could take just one class at a time if you want. The only thing holding you back is yourself.
