How quickly does your shift go by?

How quickly does your shift go by? In general, does it drag, or do you look at the clock and wonder, "Where the hell did the time go?!" What is your specialty?

Just curious to see how peoples' opinions differ...

Specializes in ICU, Research, Corrections.

Time just flies by for me. I work 7P - 7A. The closer it is to 7a, the faster the time flies. I work med/surg/neuro ICU. My unit is the code team and rapid response team too, so many times we are out of our staffing grid of 1:2.

The charting alone occupies at least 2 hours if I was uninterrupted. If I find my shift a little slow, others can always use help.
