Hello all -
After 4 semesters of online classes, both at UTA and elsewhere, I am VERY curious how the lower level nursing classes (patho, pharm, micro, Intro to nursing, etc) compare with the upper level classes.
Is the workload similar? Time frame? Rigor?
When you are doing your UL classes + clinicals, do the clinicals serve as class time? IE, are you being taught during clinincals what you will be tested on in the class?
Or are classes totally separate from what's going on in clinicals, and its essentially being a full time student with 4 classes/semester while "working" the 2-days each week at the hospital?
I hope my question makes sense. Thank you in advance to anyone with experience who can shed some light on this issue!

Good question MillertheGreat. I'm also curious about this to hopefully get a better idea of what the workload will be like when taking 3-4 classes online. Any info from others in the UL classes for AP-BSN would be really helpful!

During UL courses, you will have classwork that you complete online and on the weekend you will do the 12 hours for clinical.
The first part of the clinical, 7 am - 1 pm you will have class instruction time/lab and from 2 pm - 6 pm you will actually be on the floor with a preceptor, these times can be reversed. Proctored exams will cover coursework/clinical instruction and will take place at your clinical site on a certain day (Wednesday).
That's what I know so far...hope it helps.
