Do you have to wait so many days, and are you limited to so many times a year, etc.?

Depends on your state, check with your Board of Nursing. California only permits the exam to be repeated every 91 days, with a maximum of 4 times per year. Other states have rulings where the exam can be repeated in only 45 days. Each state can set their own rules.

Depending on your BON you can re-take the NCLEX 45-90 days from the last time taken. Some BON, such as Florida require you take a review course if you fail the NCLEX 3 times. So it will probably be a good idea to look on your BON website to see how long your BON require candidates to wait to re-test and if they have any limitation on how many times it can be taken a year.

for Florida you can take it three times at 9o day intervals and if you fail 3 times you must do a mandatory refresher course. the institutions are provided to you by the board and you choose the one you wish.
