How much time a day to dedicate to studying for NCLEX-RN?

Published

I graduated a few weeks ago and decided to take a break to enjoy the holidays. I plan to study 5-6 hours a day. How many hours did you dedicate a day to studying for the NCLEX?

I too am interested in seeing how others answer

I went to the Hurst live review about 2 weeks after graduation. Other than that, I didn't study/review hardly at all. I did download the Nclex Mastery app on my phone and did a few questions here & there (like when I was on break at work or waiting at the dentist office) but I probably did only a hundred questions or so altogether.

Not nearly that much! Haha. I graduated in December and took a couple of weeks off for the holidays too. I started working on Kaplan stuff on Jan 2, and I am taking the Kaplan class this week. I anticipate taking the NCLEX sometime in early February. I will likely put about 2 hours a day into doing the Q bank and content review. But I have a preschooler at home and she's not in daycare anymore, now that I'm done with school. If I had more time, I might push it to 3-4 hours a day with weekends off. I think that is more than enough time. Anymore than that and I feel like I would burn out very quickly. I keep reminding myself that nursing school has prepared me for this. Any studying I do now is just focusing on testing strategies and reviewing content that I'm iffy on.

Hello everyone, I just finished taking the NCLEX-RN two days ago and passed! Thank God!! I used the Kaplan NCLEX-RN 2013-2014 strategies, practice, and review book. I read it from cover to cover, answered all the questions in it and on the cd. It took me 10 days two to three hours a day. Also, I found this link on here which was very helpful https://allnurses.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11215&d=1340919779. Well, good luck everyone and stay positive.you can do it!

I took the Kaplan course right after graduation

I did 1-2 hours/day. I did between 100-150 questions/day for 18 days

I passed in 75 questions
