You'll want to utilize something like salary dot com to look for pay in different areas. Pay varies drastically based on location. Here in Oklahoma new grad RNs start out at about 18.50-19.00 base pay per hour plus varying shift diffs. HTH.

the US is a large place. Even in one state it can vary widely, depending on what the market will bear. You have to compare facility to facility in a specific area. HR depts usually have the base salaries posted when you apply, online or in their office. Nurses doing direct patient care generally are paid by the hour. Some are paid a flat salary, regardless the number of hours, but in my area that only applies to nurses in managerial positions. My kids are in IT and one makes about $100,000/year more than the other. So you have to know your market and prepare yourself to match your skills to the needs of the industry.

Where are you from? I don't think there are any jobs right now for new grads anyway to find in the hospitals. As before mentioned, US is a large place and pay rate varies greatly.
