How much OT did you work in 2006?

Just wondering what it's like in other areas. Are you short staffed? Crying for prn/casuals? Do you get turned down for vacation time regularly because there is no one to replace you? How many OT hours do you put in? Are you paid time and 1/2, double, or straight pay?

I worked approximately 330 hours of OT between two casual/prn jobs. one is an 8 hr, the other a 12. I worked almost every weekend, expecially from April to October, because during the week I was in training in the OR. I got exactly 6.16 hrs of OT pay (double time) for the whole year, because the two facilities are separately owned and have separate payroll. Because I was casual, I acrued no vacation time (payed each cheque) and have no sick time acrued either.

I recently started a .6 FTE at the 8 hr job, so now get every other weekend off, plus my X day (OT automatic if asked to work) are both Fridays, so I have a 3 day weekend on my weekend off. I will now get vacation, though I am bottom of the totem pole in seniority so get last request. I will also get OT when I work extra now, which will be frequent since we now have casuals that are only able to work on w/e.

My 12 hour job is also severely short staffed, we have lots of casuals, but we all have other jobs. Any time spent there is not OT, even though it is for me.
