How much do Nurses in Australia Earn?

Published

Hi, I am an Australian who has lived in the US for 4 years. I am currently thinking of going to nursing school over here. Can someone tell me what nurses earn when they graduate? If there is much overtime? I am thinking about doing the Associates degree in Nursing instead of the BSN program. Would that program be accepted in Australia? (You take the same licensing exam as the people doing the BSN program.)

Anxious for advice!!!

Specializes in ICU.

As far as I know the ADN is accepted the same but our base qualifications are a BSN. There are a lot of links in the "sticky" thread at the top of this forum to help you out. The pay varies from state to state and between goverment and private.

For a Registered Nurse

Salary between $38 213 - $51 466 p.a. (f/t) or salary rates: $19.27 - $25.95

A level 2 nurse or Clinical Nurse will earn

Remuneration value up to $63 984 p.a., comprising salary between $52 348 - $56 079 p.a. (f/t) or salary rates: $26.40 - $28.28 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%)
