Hi, I'm trying to gather information for a heart study.
What is the cost of one hospitalization day at the cardiology ward in the U.S. (heart failure specific hospitalization costs)?
cardiology ward / cardiac care unit / coronary care unit
I can't find information about costs for inpatient stay anywhere, or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places. ?
Does anyone know where I can find this information or is there an online database where I can find CCU costs?

The cost of hospital services in the US varies widely and trying to understand it is convoluted to say the least.
But to answer your question, this is probably the most reliable data you'll find: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5436769/#:~:text=The mean per-patient cost, was %2416%2C000 and %2415%2C924%2C respectively.
The study showed about a $15,000 HF related hospitalizations with a median stay of 5 days, so about $3000 per day.
Hospitals are now legally required to make their charges publically available, but this isn't all that useful since it has little relation to what insurers and medicare pays. It also doesn't provide any help in understanding what all you might be billed for; physicians charge separately, procedures are separate from the room charge and often make up the majority of the cost, a stay that includes cardiac bypass surgery costs around $250,000, a diagnostic heart cath adds about $10,000, etc.
The $3000 estimate appears to be mainly based on non-ICU level care for heart failure patients, the base room charge for an ICU level bed is typically more than $5000.
