How many of you work in a hospital?

Published

If you don't mind sharing...

How much experience did you have prior to getting your hospital job?

What factors besides your experience influenced them to hire you?

What advice would you give other CNA's who want to get hired by a hospital?

How does your hospital job differ from your previous position and was it LTC or HH?

Thank you!

1) I had very little experience prior to getting my hospital job. The hospital provided free training.

2) I told the nurse recruiter and the unit director that my goal was to become a nurse and that I was taking pre-reqs

3) Each hospital and unit is different so you must keep applying. One hospital I applied to had an issue with me going to school to became a nurse because "you will leave and we need someone who will be here longer." Good luck with that! Nursing assisants have a high turn over rate and some units can't seem to keep nursing assistants.

4) This is my first nursing assisant job, so no previous position to compare with.
