Just curious as to how many times you can the NCLEX-RN?? I work with a person who has taken it and failed it 6 times in the last 18months. Isn't there a limit???? What is the process when you fail it that many times?
Thanks!

Each state is different some allow unlimited attempts where others will have a set number like 3 and if you fail you need to do some sort of course before they will allow you to resit. Usually states on state website what they allow

If someone has taken it six times in the past 18 months and can still not pass it, in my opinion, they need to return to school. Obviously they do not grasp the nursing concepts and are unable to do any critical thinking.

The process varies from state to state. I also agree that someone who has failed it six times in 18 months is sorely lacking in basic nursing knowledge. There comes a point where you can't blame it on the unpredictability of the test anymore.
Thanks....I agree with you. I believe he needs to re-think his career choice. I was just curious.
I don't think he need to rethink his career choice but rushing in to resit an exam they are failing in is wrong and probably not studying properly. He needs to rethink his study and if necessary look for alternative review courses or study habits
