I am currently waiting for responses from Sierra Community College and ARC to get into their RN program for the second time. Sierra allows you to apply only once in the beginning of the year and ARC twice. I know that Sac City College has a program, but I don't meet with their merit-based criteria.:sniff:

I am looking into the profit-based schools such as ITT tech institute because there is no wait. I am aware that it is very costly and the credits are not transferable if I want to further my education. Do employers take kindly to profit-based schools like ITT? Because I don't want to waste my time and money on this school either if employers don't like to hire new grads from this school.

I am wondering how many times did everyone applied until they got accepted into the program or how many times has everyone applied already?

Overall, I just don't want to waste any more time. Are there any suggestions or advice while I wait?

I'm just frustrated because getting in is very competitive and I hear some people waited 4 or even more years until they got accepted.

Thanks in advance!

From what I understand, going to an accredited community college far out-weighs a technical school any day! If you want to further your education, going to a college with transferable credits would be your best bet. Also, I wonder what the training and education would be like at a "for-profit" institute vs. not. You could ask them their NCLEX pass rate. I don't know. I've never been in this situation. Good luck!

EH...

Yeh, you're right about the balance between a technical school and an accredited school. With all the research that I have been doing, I've decided to do the LVN to RN bridge programs.

It seem like I have more options open that way. Sure beats the hell out of working for retail once I get a job as a LVN. lol! :lol2:

I will have to take the LVN program first since I already have met the pre-reqs.
