How many times are you allowed to take the TEAS test?

I just applied to the nursing program at a community college and I hope to get a TEAS test invitation. I was wondering how many times are you allowed to take the TEAS test. know that they send you an invitation but do they give you a specific date? or are you allowed to pick your date? are you allowed to only take it once during an application process, twice, or more?

Depends on the school. At my school you don't need an invitation to take it. You just go and take it. We only get 2 chances and there has to be 30 days in between each test.

Most of the schools that I have looked at give you up to two chances. But you are required to wait a little bit in between.

At my school once you score 69% that is it. They will only take that score. Even if you scored 99% on your second try, you're still stuck with the 69%.

In my program, once you score 69% or over that is the score they take. If you retake the TEAS and score 99% they won't take the score of 99%.

My question is once you take the TEAS test how long is it good for? For example, if you take the test in March 2014 must you start schooling that same year?
