I am losing my mind, someone said that it's unusual to receive that many select all that apply. Does this mean I was doing so bad that I got 5? Please help I can't take this waiting, I guess I'm pulling at straws at this point. The longer I wait the more doubt I have.
Hi Everyone! First of all, I just want to say thank you to this forum. I've been a long-time lurker and reading everyone's stories really helped me get through studying and then helped me get through the horrible wait in California.
That being said... I felt compelled to share... I took my boards July 16th and got OVER 20 select all that apply in 75 questions :angryfire. Boy, are they NOT kidding when they say expect the unexpected. After 20 I had to stop counting because my anxiety was through the roof. I've never felt so sick and depressed as I did when waiting for those results. But... YAY! I found I passed on the 19th. So whether or not 5-6 are the norm... I can't say.. but no matter how many alternate questions you get, I think all you can do is wait and hope for the best.

Wow that is sure alot of select all that apply and you had more. Double wow. It sure glad to hear that you passed. When getting those kinda questions were there some you had no idea on and difficult to choose. IT looks alot of us are getting alot of s-a-t-a ones.

I thought that the toughest select all that apply that had to do with drugs and picking out the side effects, but there were also some diseases and picking out symptoms. I think some of them could potentially have been easy questions, but because I had so many...it was really screwing with my head. So in the end, I can't say I was confident on any of them (which seems to be the typical nclex experience for all questions). I personally felt that ALL of my answer choices were guesses for these alternate types. (Did I mention how happy I am to not have to experience this test again?)
I had a friend that day who got at least 15 too.. and then I had a friend who got 1. I have no clue why the test had to be so MEAN. My kaplan instructor mentioned that when you answer the select all that apply.. take a lot of time because somehow the computer knows if you're just answering it superficially. I can't say I believe it's true, but for good measure I did throw in an extra minute or so even after I decided what I would answer. I still would get 2-3 in a row and then the computer would decide to show some mercy and give me 1-3 regular old multiple choices and then back to the 2-3 alternates again. For all I know, I was probably riding the border line.

"WOW" are you that lucky. I never heard you will get that many. I took my RN same day as you (JUly 16) but still waiting for the CA BON result. Mine stop at 75questions. MY LAST 2 question its drugs and last question was Select all that apply. I Had 1 fill up the blank question (drugs calculation), 2-3 select all that apply, isolation precaution, labs interpretation, priority, implementation, intervention, teaching, management, who you gonna see first, and assessment as well. Almost each topic i had 2-3 questions.
I felt, i nail it and confident but you never know...........THE WAITING IS A TORTURE AND HOPING FOR THE BEST AND PRAY!!!
I am getting encouraged as I read about those of you who passed and recieved many "select all that apply" type questions. I know I answered at least 5 of those and then there were plenty of "which client to see first" type questions as well. I had 265 questions. Im just ready to hear how I did...one way or another. Took my NCLEX yesterday, so tomorrow I will know!
