How long will it take to get an offer from CA prison?

Hello everyone,

I had an interview 2 weeks ago at one of the CA correctional facility. I know last week, they had called my current job for reference check, another week passed by, I still haven't heard anything back from them! Does anyone know how long will I hear them back after reference check? or maybe they are not going to hire me?? I'm really getting so anxious now, please help !!!!

Good for you, you got an interview. Can I ask what your ranking/score was? Did you apply or did they contact you for an interview? Just asking because I am in the same boat.

well. I've never got the inquiry letter from the prison where I had my interview. I just simply applied the position and waited for a long time to get a interview call from them.. Where are you at right now?

I read in another post that it can take 4 weeks or longer to hear back. Sending a private message.

Just wondering if you finally got a response from the facility. I too am waiting for a response; it has been more than 2 weeks and I know they did a reference background check already. How long until you finally get a response?

sorry for the late reply. I've been busy. Yeah, I've already started my new job for a week now. I've waited almost a month to get my verbal offer.. it's a state job, it's going to be a long process. Which prison you are going to be working at ?

Congratulations! Good for u! I applied near the Stockton area. I dont have any updates yet it has been 3 wks and I am very anxious. They did the reference check already more than a week ago and I have not heard anything. Did u have to make a follow up or they just called you?

I think you got it. Just relax and they will call you. Yes, I had to call them to follow up with HR to find out what's up cux I was way too anxious about it. Maybe like 3-4 days after I called them, they called me back and offered me a position. I think it's good to follow up, at least they won't " forget" about you ! :) good luck

Thanks for the boost :) Been hoping and praying to get it. Will probably do the follow up next week too when I can't stand the suspense anymore hehe
