How long are the waiting lists for MCCs

Published

Does anybody have any idea how long the waiting lists are for the Maricopa Community Colleges Nursing Program?

Sorry it won't let me edit ~ I found another thread below regarding the wait times.

New question ~ anybody know what colleges have the shortest wait?

I'm in North PHX so Boswell wouldn' be too far away. Do you do classes there? Or just clinicals?

I've heard that the wait list is around 3 semesters now. But they have changed the pre-reqs. so you can apply and then keep taking classes while you wait.

As for the second question - there isn't a wait for Grand Canyon, but they have a very expensive class that is a pre req. now.. it is about 1900 and you can only take it there.. they also require a higher level math than the CC's.

Right now there is still room at Everest College and Chamberlin.. Chamberlin is a BSN and Everest is an Assoc. program. But both are BRAND new and so it is hard to know how they will do and where in the world your clinicals will be... Oh, and they are very expensive. two or three times the CC's.

I checked out Boswell, they have a building on the campus for classes. If you work there it is easier to get in. I spoke to an advisor there and she really made me feel terrible.. her words, "well, unless you're bilingual or work for Boswell, you can expect about a year's wait and even then there is no guarantee, you are just in a lottery type situation.

Perhaps Banner or John C. Lincoln's fellows are better, don't know.

Hi!

I think the waiting depends on where you will be applying. I worked for Sun health (both hospitals) for a total of two years now and still working....and if you are an employee, you will get in faster and you will be placed at the Boswell location as a preferred student meaning you will get one of the first 15 seats for the program. So it does help working for the hospital that has a partnership with one of the nursing schools...other than that, it is pretty much a waiting game. But the good thing is, when you turn in your application, it gets stamped so really its not a true waiting list and like what I said earlier, it will depend on where you will be applying....

Anyways, where are you planning on applying? I will be starting at the Boswell location on August....Hope you get in to the school you want:D
