Nursing Students Excelsior

I have heard about this online school for LPN to RN........ How much is it? An most importantly how long!!

Specializes in Psych-LTC-Home Health.

You can go to the excelsior.edu website and download the nursing catalog. It has a fee schedule and curriculum and all the info you need. They are pretty easy with transfer credits, you can estimate what you will have to take.

How long all depends on you. If finances go well (I'm paying out of pocket), I hope to be done right at 14-15 months, other people have completed in as little as 4-6 months - you have several years to get through it, I think it's either 5 or 7, cant' remember off hand. Your schedule - that's why it works so well for many people. Welcome aboard!! Bril

LOL!!

But yes, how long is up to you and whether or not/how many general ed courses you will have to take alongside the nursing exams. Good luck!!

Specializes in PACU.

I did not need any pre-req's. I enrolled in August, took CPNE in June and my granduation date was September, so just about a year. I could have taken the CPNE sooner (there was a cancellation for early May) but I didn't feel ready. When I enrolled they had an "all-inclusive" type package so I had incentive to get everything done within the first year. I don't think they offer anything like that anymore.

Thanks everyone for the feedback

They give you 5 years to finish ADN bridging program

I thought it was 7 yrs they give u.

Sorry, yes you are correct. According to the Excelsior School of Nursing Catalog, you have 7 years to complete the ADN and BSN programs.

Specializes in geriatrics, hospice, private duty.

I take the CPNE a year to the day of my enrollment but graduation processing takes up to 2 months and then it depends on how fast your state process your application for boards. Just the CPNE alone has probably cost me almost 4 grand (for the test, travel expenses, and all the prep materials, workshops, etc). Still worth it though! You can find ways to save $$$ too. Good luck!

I am going to have to open up an excelsior savings acct. LoL
