How Long

are you considered a new grad if it takes you 6 months to a year after graduating to pass the nclex? There are several new grad interships here, but I graduated last May had to take the nclex 3 times and I have just started looking for employment. Oh and how do you explain this to your interviewer. I just started filing out app on Monday and I am waiting on a call back.

You are a new grad when you begin to work, it makes no difference as to how long that you have been out of school but is based on actual work history as an RN. If there is none, then a new grad program is what you should be looking for.

Best of luck to you.
