How long after orientation before you start on the unit?

I am starting orientation as a new nurse grad on December 13th going through the 16th. Does this most likely mean I will be working through the holidays? I am a new nurse grad beginning night shifts.

I am hoping they start us on the floor after Christmas...but havent been told anything.

Just curious...I have no clue. haha! How long after yalls orientations did you start on the unit itself?

still havent heard back from my nurse manager...hopefully she gets back with me on Monday :)

You might want to check your hospital's holiday pay policy, too. I've worked in 3 hospitals, in 2 different states, and I've never received extra pay for working holidays.
