How long for endorsement in Texas?

U.S.A. Texas

Hey guys! I currently live in Alabama but am planning on moving to Texas once I graduate from nursing school. For anyone out there who has moved from a non-compact state to Texas (maybe anyone who has moved from Alabama to Texas?), how long did it take you guys to get your license endorsed in Texas? I've heard horror stories about people having hangups and having to wait 3-4 months for endorsement, and I'm kind of worried about that. I would just really like to have some kind of idea for how long it has taken some people. Thanks!

In early 2006 I was licensed as an LVN in California and applied for a Texas LVN license by endorsement. I submitted my application on January 27, 2006 and received a permanent Texas LVN license on March 7th.

I was initially licensed as an RN in Oklahoma in 2010. After submitting an application for licensure by endorsement, I waited approximately six weeks before receiving a permanent Texas RN license.

-> I am currently looking into relocating from Michigan to Texas and was wondering how the endorsments work. Do I keep my Michigan license and am "endorsed" through Texas? What was the fee? Any other info would be GREATLY appriciated!

I moved from Alabama to Texas and began the endorsement process in february and had my permanent license by the end of April.

You can keep your Michigan license as long as you continue to renew it and pay the appropriate fees to ensure it will remain in active status.

When you complete the endorsement process successfully, you will receive a permanent Texas nursing license. Click on the link below to read more about the fees you must pay and the steps you'll need to take in order to receive a Texas license by endorsement.
