I am currently in limbo because I graduated nursing school and am waiting for my ATT to schedule and take my nclex. I am picking up extra shifts at my current nurse intern job on the floor. I am trying to figure out if I can continue working after I take and pass my boards while applying and waiting for my nursing job at a different hospital (hopong no longer than a month after I pass exam and apply because multiple people are vouching for me but depends on their orientation for that hospital).
I have my CNA license and started this job when I started nursing school and then they switched me over to nurse intern position that makes more after I finished my first semester. I am not sure if this will allow me to continue longer if need be but at a lower pay while waiting.
I have heard from one employee that the manager has harassed her to tell her the exam date for her but granted she graduated in may and had not taken it yet till this coming week or so. The manager told her she could not work after that test date regardless of pass or fail. She is not a cna and I feel her treatment from the manager has been harsh while she has been there and the managers are into favorites. The manager has not made efforts to talk to me but is on my Facebook (yes I know probably not the smartest but multiple people from work are also on my Facebook so I feel like I need to keep my test date and if I pass and my next job on the down low till I get an official start date and give 2 weeks notice).
Another girl told me its 2 weeks after you pass your boards you can work.
Sorry for the long post. I have been concerned most of my shift about this after hearing. I dont want to be there longer than I have to be but I want to make and save as much as possible for my transition to a new job as well as moving and other Bills.

That's up to your employer. Some will allow it, some don't. There's no, like, law about it.

Depends on your facility, you can ask an HR manager and ask them to pull your resume for interviews. Be smart and friendly when you talk to them and tell them what you need, that you love the facility and want to build your career there.
