Hello awesome recovery nurses!! Question..I have completed my one year of stips under my Board order in Texas..Handed in all the quarterly reports, all the certificates for mandatory classes, held a nursing job with the same company for a year..have had 12 negative drug screens through first lab..and now I am over a year with all the board's requests filled on time in place. So, how do I know when to stop calling in daily to First Lab..do they send a letter, an e mail, or does your account just stop working or what happens to let you know you are done?

Have you called your case manager? They should know when you are done. Do you have a contract that you signed at the beginning of the program? I know in HPMP, they give a contract with an expected ending date. Even if you get out early, your case manager should know.

i knew ahead of time from talking with my case manager that it would end on a certain date. someone else posted that they tried to log in to first lab & it wouldn't let them- said contract was closed or something like that. congratulations!!!
Thanks for the info..though I do not have a case manager since I was never in TPAPN..Just dealt with the board.
Wish me luck...you said when you tried to log in it would not let you. Was that with First Lab?

I don't think that was me that said that. And no, it is not First Lab that we go through. We go through Affinity Solutions and get tested through LabCorps. I still have another 4 years and 7 months of my contract.
I would call the Board then. I would find out for sure. I wonder if they will mail you something.
OH Dang..I am sorry wish me luck..it was learning lessons that posted he/she was done. I apologize and hope I did not hurt your feelings with that faux paw.
I am always hesitant to call the board..I have just been compliant and silent to try not to anger the BEAST!!!
I will sure post when I am done and how I was notified.

I am having a similar issue with figuring out if I am done with HPMP!! My contract was for 5 years and supposed to be done on 12/20/2012. My case manager told me on 12/7 that the meeting to staff it was cancelled and the next one would be 1/11/13!! I was completely beside myself and cried on the phone with her. But just to make sure things were smooth I called her right back to apologize for being emotional. She seemed like she sympathized and said she would speak to the medical director about at least stopping my drug screens on the 20th so I wouldn't have to pay any more. Well that was the last contact I had with her!!! She never got back to me, drug screens continued and I ended up paying $160 in the mean time. It is now past the 11th and when I check in it says "you are not required to check in today". This should seem obvious I guess, but the program is shady and I don't trust anything until I hear it from them. Well I have now called my case manager 6 times with no return call. All the calls were separated by at least a few days in order to give her ample time to call back. And still NOTHING!! I have called twice asking to talk to anyone and the secretary said I can not. I asked for my case managers supervisor and I was first told they are all in a meeting, then was told she is not here today!! What is going on? Are they not required to keep communication with participants. I tried to call the Board and they have no record of information that I have completed HPMP. After five years I have not missed a single check-in, even on my honey-moon and when giving birth to my daughter. I have also NEVER had a positive screen, even in my life in fact. My paperwork has always been in on time, my work history is impeccable, and I have never spoken to anyone in HPMP in a way that would warrant this. How can they do this? Where can I turn? I am considering hiring a lawyer, but I do not have the money. There has got to be some way... Anyone with insight, please help!! Also, does anyone know how long it took before the Board sent a letter, is this normal?

Fresh Start, this must be so frustrating after 5 long years! Congrats to you!!! Hooray and good luck in your future! I would check your original contract with the State and email your case manager about why this is taking so long and the poor follow up on their part. I know you don't want to make waves but One letter from an attorney to the program will wrap it up real fast! Especially if you are in good standing and have been 100 percent compliant!
