Just curious.
Our census has been kind of low for this time of year. I saw in an email where they had asked the surgeons to help bring in more patients. I presume through elective surgery (joint replacements, laparoscopic gyn surg etc).

Our census has always been low this time of year. Goes up and stays up after the holidays are over.
It's similar for us also. I have also noticed that when it first turns cold, people tend to stay at home. Once they realize it isn't going to get warmer, they venture out and our census goes up. Some of the patients really should have braved the cold, they probably could have avoided a hospital stay had they seen their doc, instead of staying home out of the cold.
