How I studied for nclex

Published

Hi everyone! Took my nclex on tues and found out today that I passed! Took the test in CA. Test cut off at 75 questions and I had 30-35 sata questions. For studying, I knew that I can't study for prolonged periods as I lose concentration. I studied about 3 hrs/day for 2 months straight. I took Kaplan and utilized its online sources as well. I also used Saunders 6th edition w/it's online practice questions. The sata questions from Saunders was good practice, though the non sata questions were too easy, so I used Kaplan practice questions for everything else. I averaged between 58-65% on the Kaplan qbank and question trainers. Showed up 1 hr early on test day & was able to start after 10 min. They gave me the marker board when I first checked in and there was a rule in the test guidelines about brain dumping & that you shouldn't write anything on the board before entering the test area, the person who checked me in reminded me of this as well. I had no dosage calc questions on the test so I never used the marker board at all during the test. Finished after 2 hrs and I felt like I got every question wrong, didn't feel 100% certain on anything! I totally lucked out and was overjoyed to see my name/license no. on breeze this morning! Good luck! You can do it guys!

Believe24 Congrats on passing! I failed first time with kaplan and now I am using Hurst & kaplan both with PDA and Kaplan strategy book. I am studying 5 days a week 4-5 hours. Hope it works for me just a bit nervous..
