Hello all I have thought of way to make our team run more efficiently during emergencies at the facility where I work. I talked to my supervisor about this and she appeared to like the idea and said "Can you give it to me in writing?" My question is this: when in nursing school there was an acronym that was used to establish an identified problem or policy to change and a solution and then the change. A lot of hospitals use this anyway, does anyone know what it is called? I thank you in advance for assistance:-)

Make it short and sweet within that excellent framework. So many people people write overblown, passive-voice, "academic" language to make things look more important, but clarity is the most important part of any communication. Good for you for doing this, and for your management to be open to suggestions from the boots on the ground folks.

I agree that a formal framework can be helpful. But if this is a suggestion for a revision, I would suggest going off the original structure first. Many hospitals have a particular "way" of writing their policies and procedures, and if your submission doesn't fit this, it will have to be rewritten anyway.

I have written and rewritten some policies for my department myself.
