After you graduate from the program you dream of being a nurse in a hospital, taking care of people, applying everything that you've learned. But there's one hurdle that you have to get over before you can even scratch the surface... the dreaded NCLEX!! The first time I took the NCLEX being an LPN for 14 years I thought that I could pass it with flying colors without applying to much study. I was wrong. FAIL. Then I decided I was going to order every book I can get my hands on study from front to back make a quizLet and go take it again. Well second attempt I failed although I got 270 questions I still failed. I took a week off started studying again I got a test bank called UWORLD. I studied six hours a day for two months, I learned my lab values, the high values the low values, and how it affects the body either way and what diagnosis goes with those lab values. Test day came I was a wreck!!! Isn't everyone?? I got 265 questions!! I cried all the way home! Sure that I failed!! I am proud to say that I am, finally, a registered nurse, I passed! I owe it to my diligence to not give up and UWORLD! It can be pricey but well worth the money comparing to paying for a remediation course at $2000!!! Or $250 to re-register!! Also after my third attempt I did the Pearson view trick and it worked. I got the "good pop up"!!! The first two times it took my money!! I hope this helps someone out there to obtain their dream as it did me! Good luck everyone.
