How should I memorize or study for the TEAS-V?

Published

Hi so I have about 40 or a few more days until I take my TEAS-V and I've gone through the ATI manual once and have taken one practice exam from the book. I don't think I did so good even though the topics covered in the manual were...well high school level...

I just wanted to ask, for the next month or so I'm going to study, should I make a study guide for each section? Like the formulas for the math section, capitalization rules for the english and literally ALL of the science chapters?? I don't quite know where to go from here...

Basically, how should I memorize all of the concepts I'm supposed to know and how am I even going to make the study guide in a concise, easy to learn manner?

I am kind of getting stressed because I really do want to do well. Thanks!

PS if there are any cool TEAS links I should check out, will you direct them to me? I know a few neat ones but I want as many resources as I can get! Thanks!

ATI has a study guide which covers pretty much anything that can be on the test. They also have a couple of online practice tests you can get in their online store. I would say they are worth it, because really the only thing that can prepare you for taking the TEAS is taking it. It's a bit different from most standardized tests I have ever taken. If buying the guide and the tests is out of your budget, you can rent the book alone from places like Barnes and Noble for a lot less. It has practice questions and a practice exam as well.

Try http://www.cram.com it's an online flashcards exchange you can make your own for each section or search for and use some one else's flashcards if you think they're trustworthy.

The online test helped me so much, because it prepared me for both format and content. I read on allnurses that most people score higher on the actual test than on the practice tests, and that proved true for me as well. Once I took the online test and scored much higher than I needed for my program, I didn't study, but if you aren't happy with your score, you can view a report showing which areas you need to study specifically. I highly recommended the ATI study book + online access. Good luck!
