Ask yourself "Am I learning anything from her?" Everyone can have something to contribute....
However, if she is not reading/studying/prepared for class/clinical, then you have to tell her "I don't want you with me because I feel like I do all the work for you.....etc."
Now, apply monkey-removal cream to your back (make sure you wear gloves), watch for S/S of recurrence, and take all your anti-monkey meds to avoid developing a drug resistant strain.....

I don't know what it is exactly about nurses, but we seem to attract the needy ones. Sometimes they become downright barnacles....or thorns in the side....I agree with the previous post...it's a good idea to learn how to set boundaries soon in your career....because, it's a given that as a nurse, there will be barnacles looking for a host...ie you, to live off of.
Thank you so much for your advice. You made me feel a lot better. I really do speak my mind, but she is such a good hearted person and I did not want to hurt her feelings. I definitely have to say something.
