Look into programs at the local community colleges or the regional occupational centers. As a last resort, find a nursing home that provides CNA classes. Once you become a CNA, you can find jobs by first targeting where you would like to work. Then go to the websites for employment: monster.com, careerbuilder.com, indeed.com, etc. Also, the EDD has their website: CALJOBS. You can start applying at the places listed in these sites. Alternatively, you can get a phone book and look in the yellow pages, then start going in person. It won't take you long to get a job as a CNA. Good luck.

I am a 30 yr old dad in LA and I have a plan on how to pay for nursing school tuition and my kid's private school. I am nervous that I am starting a career change and have no experience in a hospital setting. I would like any information on becoming a CNA to gain confidence and make some extra scratch.
